Taino Digital Works - Installations

Taino Digital Works is an exhibition of artwork intended for permanent installation in institutions, public buildings and spaces. I am inspired by the art left to us by the Native Taino people of the Caribbean and these are created from photos of Taino sacred objects and rock art that has been digitized, otherwise colorized, printed on acrylic, metal, and canvas materials, then mounted to create a new Taino art experience. I have been working on this art for several years to develop what you experience here today. This art is appropriate for public spaces in institutions in the Latino/native community since they have cultural content. Since they are digital, they can be reproduced in many different sizes, printed on a variety of materials and arranged in a myriad of configurations.

Taino Digital Works - This project began as a series of photographs that I took and then digitized in Adobe Photoshop. I colorized these photographs of ancient rock drawings and sculptures created by the Native Indigenous Taino peoples of the Caribbean. I like to think that i am breathing new life to Taino art and reinterpreting it with new technology.
